Purpose
The Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) provides financial assistance in efforts to alleviate the causes and conditions of poverty. Services are provided to address education, housing employment, nutrition, health, emergency services, etc. Case management services are provided to determine appropriate activities/goals for the client and his/her family.
One on one case management services to help guide customers back into school and/or re-entering the workforce.
- A free budget and money management class.
- Financial support for students in school, such as money for books, uniforms, testing fees and limited tuition. <>Financial Support for customers who have multiple barriers that prevent them from completing their education or maintaining their employment. Examples: Utilities, rent, child care, food vouchers, transportation, and other services, on a case by case basis.
- Job development
- Job skills workshops (résumé and cover letter writing, how to correctly complete an employment application and mock interviews). Instructions on effective job seeking skills.
To increase capacity, to achieve results, LCAA has established many partnerships. The partnerships established are focal to the success of the agency’s service delivery.

Eligibility:
Families must meet income guidelines established by the Office of Community Services. Applicant must be 18 years or older to apply for CSBG services. Families must live in the two county service areas.
Hours of Operation:
Monday through Thursday, 9:00 AM until 11:30 AM and 1:30 PM until 4:00 PM.
Applications are taken, on Wednesdays, for senior citizens and disabled individuals “only”
No applications will be taken on Fridays (Exception – Disconnected Service)
